New Windows 8 Tablets From Acer Asus And Toshiba Will Be Shown At Computex
As we reported yesterday that Asus was planning on bringing a new product at the Computex 2012 event being held a couple of days later. In addition to that, it seems like Acer and Toshiba are also bringing Windows 8 running tablets at the Computex event. The report was published by Bloomberg today, as the publication got this information from the sources close to the situation.
Computex is being held on Monday in Taipei, where all these manufacturers will be showing off their new products. As we showed you the teaser video from Asus yesterday, that suggested that the Taiwanese manufacturer was planning on bringing a dual boot tablet that runs on Windows 8 as well as Android at the event.
You have to keep in mind that Computex is going to be last tech show before the summer and fall release of Windows 8 by Microsoft. According to the same report, Acer will be bringing Intel based Windows 8 tablet while the Win 8 powered tablet from Toshiba will be based on a Texas instrument ARM processor. In addition to that, Asus will be displaying Intel and ARM based Windows 8 products at the event as well. The ARM based Asus tablet will be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra processor chip and it will also come with the same detachable keyboard form factor, that is the significant symbol of Transformer line of tablets. There is a chance that this will be the same dual boot unit we were discussing earlier.
Bloomberg’s report also suggests that there will be more Windows 8 display at the Computex event, as Qualcomm is also planning on showing a demo of Windows 8 on a Snapdragon CPU. Asus has scheduled to held a press conference on Monday, 4th June at 15:00 local time. So, hopefully we will be getting further information at that conference and surely we will keep you updated on it as well. Stay tuned and please mention in the comments box below, about what do you think about this post.
