HP TouchPad To Get Android Ice Cream Sandwich Soon

Previously, you may have heard about the unofficial ROM of Android 2.3 Gingerbread was released via CyanogenMod for the popular HP TouchPad. The tablet became popular because last year, HP sold this tablet for only $99 and it was the second best selling tablet after iPad of course for the last year. Originally, HP TouchPad came with HP’s own OS named as webOS, but the new life was given to tablet when its Android port was released through CyanogenMod and users were able to enjoy millions of apps available at Android Market on their cheap slate. Well, now it seems like that CyanogenMod team has something more for the HP TouchPad.

Here we have brought a new video which shows a preview of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on an HP TouchPad slate. As you can see it is an early build but still it works pretty fine. At this moment, most of the tablet’s features are in working condition, while the only major feature which is not working is camera functionality and video playback at this time. So, once the developers take care of these issues, we are surely going to see CyanogenMod 9 for HP TouchPad released for public. And it is highly expected that the ICS port will be released very soon.
