Nokia CEO Hints Arrival Of Windows 8 Running Tablets
Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop was giving an interview to Bloomberg this week when he mentioned that Nokia’s future plans include tablets as well. As you might remember Stephen Elop was previously an Executive in Microsoft is now the CEO of Finnish handset manufacturer and it seems like they have collaborated with Microsoft to manufacture the Windows 8 running tablet.
First of all, you will have to keep in mind that Stephen Elop only stated that “a tablet opportunity coming” which means that he did not confirmed that they are producing a tablet device. But here’s the catch, that he did not even deny the fact either. One thing he wanted to clarify that Nokia is not planning to create a slate yet. Well, it actually makes sense that Windows 8’s launch is very far right now, so there is no point of creating a rush or teasing everyone like this. As you may have seen just a few days ago, Nokia and Microsoft launched Windows Phone running smartphones Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710. Which means that Nokia and Microsoft can work together very well and hopefully, it is the starting of a very long and strong partnership. Meanwhile, we also see that the newly introduce handsets by the collaboration of the two companies are also unable to show any product differentiation from other makers at this moment.
Nokia really needs to take cautious steps right now because they failed once when they released the Nokia 800 and Nokia 810 tablets and they were a miserable failure. On the other hand, iOS and Android are pretty much leading the tablet market predictions show that Microsoft’s Windows 8 will be able to only conquer the 10% of the market. So, its up to Nokia now, are they going to take such step or not.
